A 42-year-old man was reported Tuesday to be stable and expected to recover after having been stabbed in the stomach by his girlfriend’s brother at a downtown Salt Lake City motel.Salt Lake police Detective Dennis McGowan said alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the stabbing, which occurred about 4:30 a.m. Sunday at the Super 8 Motel, 616 S. 200 West.Both the victim and his 20-year-old alleged assailant, who complained of a hip injury, were initially transported to University Hospita...
